Timber Pact MRA 2026-2030
What is it?
With the Houtbouw Pact MRA 2026–2030, signatories from the public sector, private sector, knowledge sector, and other relevant sectors are taking significant steps to advance the transition towards timber and biobased construction. Over the next five years, the signatories commit to actually delivering the agreed target of 20% of real estate production in the MRA through timber and biobased construction, in public-private partnerships. Through this pact, all signatories contribute to reaching the tipping point at which timber and biobased construction become the new norm, thereby making the construction sector more sustainable and cleaner.
Where are we now?
The Houtbouw Pact MRA 2026–2030 was launched in 2026. It is the successor to the Houtbouw Covenant MRA 2021–2025. The strategy of the Timber Construction Pact is determined by the administrative steering committee, which consists of four aldermen, one provincial executive, five directors of real estate organizations, and one professor. A strong timber construction community of more than 100 signatories has emerged.

These projects are tracked in our database, which also allows us to monitor our ambitions.
